08 EL with 09 code

I got my box of Monte sublimes today, but the box code is LRE ENE 09...Everything about them looks legit, but I have never seen a 09 code on a 08 EL before...Time to worry?

Not if received them from a trusted source! Mine r from DIC 08.

If you trust your vendor I wouldn't worry. They just didn't get boxed until 09.

Here's a good one. My Cohiba DC ELs have DIC 03 on the cardboard & ABR 04 on the box! Taste great, though.

I trust my vendor, but it was just something I had never seen before...But they are from january 09, so they probably just got boxed to late...

I don't have personal knowledge, but a (kind of know-it-all) guy from cA forum has insisted for years that the box codes are not put on the boxed until they are shipped from the factory. If so, your box simply was not shipped out until ENE 09 even though the cigars may have been rolled and boxed in 2008.

Yeah i'm not sure exactly when the dates and codes go on the box but this video shows that they at least are not on the box when they are packaged. Maybe shortly after or when they are shipped, not sure.

If they didn't get boxed until 2009, I wonder how much backlogged inventory of the Monte Sublimes exist. Granted January 2009 is not far off from 2008, and this is Cuba we are talking about. Just seems strange...not authenticity wise, but inventory wise...

I have a box with LRE MAR 09. I also have a box with LPM DIC 08. I can't see any difference in the two as far as appearance. I have not smoked one from either box though.

The comments here interest me. I thought it was common knowledge that Ediciones Limitadas are boxed many months into the year following the year of release...not in a condescending way, I had just always heard of this occurring.
