MIKA27 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 To those of you who may be in Australia watching the live coverage of Superbowl, I don't know about yourselves but damn the coverage sucks on ONE HD. They keep showing commentary by 'Supposed experts' (Dave Hughes - WTF!?) and there is more of that than of the game which is being shown 'Live'. Regarless, hope you all are enjoying, GO SAINTS!
Smooth Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 ESPN is a straight US feed with decent commentary it seems... Same feed on FS3 too.
Morientes50 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hopefully you guys don't have to suffer through all the damn commercials. Pretty soon the superbowl is going to be one long commercial with small breaks of football But at least the two teams seem like they'll make it a game.
gfoster Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 "pretty soon"? It's already that way. One play, then switch to commercials. Come back, run two plays, switch to commercials. Etc. -- Gary F.

Regarless, hope you all are enjoying, GO SAINTS! agreed. we don't even have col scotts this year! better just to take the coverage and keep away from trying to inject some local flavour in one game a year. still, better than when some gibbering moron at seven decided their world cup coverage would work better by including a netballer in the commentary team. posibly the most braindead, imbecilic decision ever made on this earth. and didn't it flop.

Well....it could have been THAT bad, thank god, not!
MIKA27 Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 .........The 'WHO' half time show. Really...bad......show!
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 .........The 'WHO' half time show. Really...bad......show! the one thing the locals did was at least they absolutely panned the who. deservedly so. especially after last year's brilliant half time show.
OZCUBAN Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hey Mika wait till the F-1 season starts there's another one HD ***** post
Joachim Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 The match was on a channel here in norway, that do`s not show any commercials at all...don`t think I would have watched it if I had to sit through all the commercials...but it was a fun game
bigfunkyg Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 In Canada we get the same CBS feed as in the States without the overpriced commercials. If I had to watch one more overproducted piece of garbage about the Canadian olympic team and how "We Believe" I was going to puke. Just after the game was over I was forced to watch a two minute clip of some song appropriately entitled "We Believe" with a bunch of olympic clips from the past. Thank god for the internet so I can actually watch all those $2.5 million dollar commercials tomorrow! G

G I'm with you, I watched a superbowl overseas once and was stunned at the low quality ad's they substituted in, same amount of commercials, but now with half the production value and twice the repetition.
stargazer14 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Frankly, I enjoy the commercials here in the states - they are not playing anyway so as a person who works in advertising I like seeing how companies spend 2million dollars for a 30second spot. And altho i dont enjoy live, rushed medleys, i also enjoyed The Who. and someone must have noticed - if you typed the word 'THE' into google today, 'THE WHO SUPER BOWL' was one of the first things to pop up.
Ken Gargett Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 a few years back, it used to be better and we'd (as in overseas viewers) occasionally saw some things that the locals didn't. if you go back to the one in the early 90's, we saw the kick off and first play and then saw it repeated. they had to redo the kick off because the tv station had been off in an advert! imagine if the receiving team had run it back for a touchdown!
MIKA27 Posted February 9, 2010 Author Posted February 9, 2010 Hey Mika wait till the F-1 season starts there's another one HD ***** post ...Tell me about it. At least I'll be at the Melbourne GP and recording the race on my Blu Ray recorder. The remainder of the races however will be at ONE HD's mercy. The ITV coverage is usually pretty good.
thechenman Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Personally...I think if you missed this year's Superbowl commercials...you really didn't miss a whole hell of a lot. In general, I thought they were below the standards of many previous years in terms of quality and humor. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice recurring themes in commercials for different products (i.e., no pants, etc.)?

Mel Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I agree...they were the worst in years. I agree again. I kept waitng for the funny commercials and was disapointed. I did like the dog and shock collar. The no pants thing was completely withOUT humor.
