Hey guys,

I should have a box of MC "clubs" coming in on Friday or so (I'll post a review on these gems, don't worry!). However, with that said, I've never smoked anything that falls under minis/clubs, so I have no idea what to expect. Have you smoked these before? How were they?

Thanks!

PS: Mods, if this needs to to be moved to the TC section, feel free to do so.

I think you will like these. When you smoke them, be sure to be gentle. They are thin and they can get over heated and bitter tasting if you draw on them like a robusto. You also need to keep them properly humidified just like any other cigar.

Kilroy and I did a side by side taste testing of four sets of Club cigars several months ago. We had good intentions to write up reviews but never did it... but without a doubt, the Montes, Cohibas, and Partagas Clubs that we had all tasted like their respective marcas. We had some RJs that did not impress either of us.

For my taste the Montes are the best of the bunch, I think Andy liked the Partagas the best.

Hope you enjoy, and be sure to let us know what you think.

Yeah, I've heard that they overheat pretty easily, but it make sense, due to the small size. After hearing what you've said about the flavor, I'm even more excited!

I smoke Partagas Chicos all the time. They are a crappy made "shot glass" of Cuban tobacco and for what it is worth they satisfy an urge. I like them. They are not Sir Winstons... but given what they are and what they cost they have a niche. - Piggy

Exactly what I need! It's too cold outside to really enjoy a full sized smoke

I am a club smoker and the Monties are my favorite - the flavor of a Monti is there and they are enjoyable.

As noted, smoke slow and you will not only retain the flavor but can make these last 30mins!

This post should be moved to the new C&C section!

Hm, sounds good. I'm gonna give these babies a whirl when I go to my B&M this weekend. A good review shall follow ;-)

I smoked the Montis when I was in Italy. I prefered them to the Cohibas, and I never saw the Partagas. Pleasant, but not as enjoyable as a full sized cigar.

When I want a quick smoke these days I usually go with a half corona, like the Punch petite punch. That being said, the clubs work great in a pinch. Especially if you are jonesing. I used to smoke the SLR, clubs and they were really quite enjoyable. Don't suck on em like a joint ;) you'll burn your lips and they will taste like crap.
