This was a single stick that has been around for no more than 18 months, two years. I've been a big fan of the Edmundo's but far less so of these. But it looked great, construction as good as one could wish.

It opened absolutely gloriously. Could not believe that this was the same cigar as some of the iffy Petit Ed's I'd endured. Waves of flavour. Oodles of creamy coffee and sweet tobacco notes. Richness and balance. Exciting. This was just a 'come to poppa, all is forgiven' opening. I was all set to order boxes of them and that was just the first quarter. This was heading for 93-94. A score I would not often hand out to a short, stubby cigar, and a score I would never envisaged of allocating to a Petit Ed.

How good is this, I was thinking. Not very, as it turned out. Never seen a cigar flick the switch to utter and total crap as much as this one did. Suddenly, it was absolutely awful. Acrid, bitter, harsh, unpleasant – and that was its good qualities. Toxic! What a tease. It was horrible to taste. This had to be like a supermodel that changes her mind half way home. This was a shocker, even for the Petit Ed.

And then, right at the finish, though who knows why I actually got to the end, all the wonderful flavours of the opening flickered back into life. Just for a moment. I could not believe it. It was as though it was just to taunt me as to what could have been. All it did was make me even more annoyed. 20/100.

Haha would of never guessed it was one of those cigars that you would of wanted to love either, given the size.

Medication induced?

Hey mate, thanks for the review!

I've had some absolute crackers of these. Then, on other occasions, they're absolutely rubbish.

Not something you'd buy a box of, unless Rob had a PSP...

I had an early run on those (07?)and loved them. Then about a year ago I posted a review on one hoping I'd be writing about a great experience.

It was crap. Really.

I was disappointed but will go back to these again in a year or two.

I've had a similar experience, but I hope it is only temporary. Loved both Edmundos when I started smoking Cubans about a year ago, but now...they just don't seem to be doing it for me. I'm hoping it is just the cigars going through a dead period. Hopefully...
