  1. Timing wise this review week couldn't have been better as I was celebrate my birthday (I won't mention how old but I'm a grandpa...) Challenge was what to smoke as I've been gifted these beauties from fellow BOTL Ended up choosing the Talisman as I've got a box but have not cracked it open as I was looking to age them and try them another time but thought might as well try and see what the hype is about. 1/3 was smooth, no freshness with this cigar but the start is very muted, not getting a lot of flavours, predominant notes of hay. Starting similar to a fresh Siglo VI. B A Bit further than the 2/3 but now it's coming into it's element, first third was quite mild and good construction and smoke but not a lot going on. This 2/3 is more stronger hay notes and now a lot of almond notes and creamy notes. Sad times when the ash falls off...was hoping to smoke through the bands Took to the nub as the last half of the cigar was where all the flavours were, very enjoyable and hope that my box is similar as I would say its a good smoke. Now to factor in the price, this for me was a nice Siglo VI and so whichever is cheaper I would say go for that as the supply on these has been crazy so the price hasn't really jumped up. I have read the 2019 are smoking better so now that I have a reference point I'll be looking to try a 2019 stick to compare. Overall would say 89/100 as I'm factoring price of this stick as well.
  2. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone. I've been smoking cigars for a few years now but just stumbled upon this site a couple of months ago. Throuroughly enjoying it love reading all the stories and everything people are smoking. Just tried the second talisman since last week. Overall must say I'm very disappointed with this cigar, at least in this early age. Definitely on the stronger side, close to a full body. Not quite a maduro but certainly getting there. Some woody and chocolate taste but other than that it doesn't really evolve much and lacks a lot of complexity. What I'm most disappointed about is the construction. I did a v cut but the draws really really firm. Had to relight it a couple of times just to get through the first 2/3. Also both of the ones I've had the wrapper completely broke off and became unsmokable for the final third..... For what it retails in Canada, I think about 1000CAD a box plus tax, there are simply better choices. I'd much rather keep smoking behikes than this. Both the 2011 and 2014 ones are far superior to this. I'm not a huge fan of full bodied cigars so maybe that is why. But it simply lacks the creamy smoothness that the expensive cohibas all possess I still have two more boxes tucked away and will probably continue to buy more if my local store receives them in the hopes that they get better. But for now I won't be smoking these anymore until they get a lot more age on them. With almost all Cohiba ELs I'm sure it will be a good investment but I usually run through everything extremely quickly. It is just very rare for me to not want to smoke something right away. I'd say before you buy these try to try them first if possible. Certainly the most disappointing premium cohiba at this point.
  3. Walked into my local store today after a big big lunch and what do I find? Talisman and Behike in stock and ready to go. Must be early Christmas season. Probably gonna pop a box of talisman right away and keep a box on the side for a year or so so see how it ages. Picked up a box of medio siglos for the winter season as well.
