FOH member zeedubbya and I were chatting the other day about box my video review spreadsheet, and got to talking about box codes. We have a lot of questions about them (as anyone who's been around the block long enough is bound to), but I got to thinking about what data we *do* have, and what insights we can glean.
Using summary data from someone (RL name I won't use here, but I don't know his FOH forum name!) who carefully tracks 24:24 sales, and has detailed data from July, 2015 until January, 2016, I've taken that data and run a few tables, charts, and graphs. I don't think this data is 100% complete, but it's got nearly 800 entries, so I'll take it.
I like this data source, because it only shows items which passed Rob's muster, which mean they met a bar of quality.

Please look at all the different tabs at the bottom. There are quite a few! And scroll around, since some of the tables are quite big.
I've created tables for each brand, as well. We can see which box codes have appeared most frequently, and which production months were on offer most frequently, as well.
For each box code, I also calculated the date of earliest appearance, and the most recent appearance. Interestingly, some codes have been around (either continuously, or in cycles) for many years...
It's interesting to have this in hand. You can see, for example, that the HURR and HUPC on offer on the last two days, which have the LUB code, continue the strength of that code for the H. Upmann brand. And it turns out that it has been the 4th most commonly sold code in 24:24 over this period of time.
Anyway -- hope this is of interest. Perhaps we can poke at the data to find other insights and trends, as well.
