Sampling my first Connie A.
A bit of a tight draw with first cut, then opted for a larger cut almost immediately after initially lighting it up. Turned out to be the right decision.
First 3rd
Started off with cream coffee and cacao notes. The expected nuttiness was only faintly present. Oaky finish.
Middle 3rd:
Cream coffee still was quite pronounced complemented with emerging hints of hazelnut and vanilla. Molasses sweetness was also present. Orange peel on the finish.
Final 3rd:
Creaminess started to fade at the beginning of this third turning into medium-roasted coffee notes. Eucalyptus became noticeable on the finish.
93 Points. A smooth, creamy cigar that almost lasted two hours with only having to relight it once during the last third. As mentioned earlier, this is my first Connie A and lives up to my expectations of a medium body and strength. I'll sample another one before fully committing to a couple of boxes; admittedly, I'm truly delaying the Connie A purchase until replenishing my cigar budget. Definitely has the stuffing for mid to long-term aging.
