Anyone have any idea what this is about ? Received first mail last month, replied I don't know the company mentioned, no affiliation, then today the second mail arrives .. they are serious about registering the flyingcigar name as a brand. According to Chinese friends the China Registry website is legit. I couldn't care less as I never intended to go commercial ( or I would have registered my blog as .com 16 years ago ). Just curious as to what cigars will come out of this ... Not Cuban ones for sure. Thanks for any clue on this. Nino 26.01.2020 Hello. (It's very urgent, please transfer this email to your CEO. Thanks) We are the domain name registration service company in China. On Oct 7, 2019, we received an application from Kangwei Ltd requested "flyingcigar" as their internet keyword and China (CN) domain names (flyingcigar.cn, flyingcigar.com.cn, flyingcigar.net.cn, flyingcigar.org.cn). But after checking it, we find this name conflict with your company name or trademark. In order to deal with this matter better, it's necessary to send email to you and confirm whether your company have affiliation with this Chinese company or not? Best Regards *************************************** Thomas XXX | Service & Operations Manager China Registry (Head Office) | 6012, Xingdi Building, No. 1698 Yishan Road, Shanghai 201103, China Tel: +86-02164193517 Mob: +86-13816428671 Email: [email protected] Web: www.chinaregistry.net.cn ------------------------- 05.02.2020 To whom it concerns, We will register the China domain names "flyingcigar.cn" "flyingcigar.com.cn" "flyingcigar.net.cn" "flyingcigar.org.cn" and internet keyword "flyingcigar" and have submitted our application. We are waiting for Mr. Thomas XXX's approval and think these CN domains and internet keyword are very important for our business. Even though Mr. Thomas XXX advised us to change another name, we will persist in this name. Kind regards Gareth XXX

I'll be celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary with my beautiful soulmate on our first epic vacation without our kids since we married. We'll be spending 5 or 6 days in all three cities; Beijing, China will be our first stop, then off to Chiang Mai, Thailand, followed by Bangkok, Thailand, and then a couple of days back in Beijing before we return. Eating and site seeing will be aplenty, and I have many sites already picked out, though I welcome suggestions. Can anyone recommend any cigar friendly places to enjoy a cigar and cocktail in any of these places? Are any of these places even tolerant of cigar smoking? Will I be shunned or arrested if I spark up in public? I may take a look in a cigar shop or two while I'm over there, but I've read there are few that are worth chasing down unless you happen to be in the area. What are your thoughts on this? Can you recommend any? Thanks.

Saw this on another site in relation to Alibaba.com A search on "Cohiba" & "box" yields. This Some particularly troubling items. Fake BHK Festival 3 packs. BHK56 Box Also in BHK54 size. Fauxhiba Exquisitos anyone? Made to order SLB's? From the picture, it looks like wine fakery is already underway. And Cohiba 1966 boxes. I could go on. How long until Chinese grown tobacco starts populating these boxes and proliferating world wide? It's one thing to make unlicensed goods that don't resemble any current Habanos offerings. But making copies of current products is going to be a nightmare. Trademarks are near impossible to enforce when it comes to China. It looks like the CC market is going to have a real tough time if these hit the market with cigars inside. Thoughts?

Just stumbled upon this piece by CCTV's Havana man Michael Voss ( nice guy and very knowledgeable on cigars, met him in HAV when he was with the BBC ) on China, or rather a rich Chinese, investing in Hirochi : Looks like a follow-up on his projected venture in China by HK Hirochi International : http://www.ty-hirochi.com/
