  1. So, a few years back I saw this cool kickstarter project for a wifi enabled sensor hub... It's called knut, check the video below: It's basically a wifi sensor hub that you can connect multiple sensors to for use in various projects, it works in conjunction with an android and iOS app so you can monitor your humidor remotely. It can also alert you when the environment is over a certain threshold ie over 65% RH It has a built in temp sensor and you can purchase extra sensors for it, you can also buy a breakout board for it to add your own sensors, relays, motors etc. I intend to connect this to my aristocrats internal fan at some point and configure it to come on when the humi reaches a trigger point. It uses an email address you setup yourself for it so there is no subscription costs. You can also graph your humidors data over minute, hour, day and month date ranges. The data can also be recorded to micro sd for exportation to your computer for later analysis. Well.... Mine arrived today, setup was a little tricky but I worked it out and it seems to be working fine, I've setup the alerts and they are coming in as expected. I will do more tinkering but I intend to post a full and in depth review after a few months use. If you don't have an android or iphone you can configure via the web also. I opted for the humidity sensor (obviously) and an accelerometer, I will configure the accelerometer so it alerts me when the humidor is opened or knocked. You can also buy a magnetic door switch but it requires screw mounting which i will never do to my aristocrat. So if anybody is looking for a smart way to keep an eye on your humidor: http://amperic.com/manual/ I will also be getting rid of my heartfelt beads, I have given them a fair chance and I think they are crap. I will update on my alternative choice in due course.
