  1. Been a while since I've posted on foh. Just lit up a Partagas Short from a Jul 14 cab, tasty little firecracker. Gotta be a top 5 go-to cigar for me.
  2. I've fallen in love with my Xikar MTX scissors. If I don't have those for some reason, I use my pocket knife. Hell, sometimes I just use my thumb nail...only on Cubans though, nc wrappers are too thin/fragile for that to work very well.
  3. I'd go BRC or Epi 2 myself. PSD4 are good, but I'm constantly underwhelmed by them. RASS are right up there too.
  4. Good luck if you try it. Nothing beats homemade. Now, on to part two...this time with sauce. A healthy spread of my chunky sauce, a nice sprinkle of shredded parmesan, fresh mozzarella and a bit of crumbled feta. Finished with a touch of salt and pepper and a nice drizzle of evoo. I call it...Lunch!
  5. I just recently picked up a box of PLP to split with a buddy. They're ugly as sin, but they are tasty little buggers. Along with the PLP, I picked up some Quintero Londres Extra and JLP Cazadores. At an average price under $2.50 a stick, I'm pleased with all of them. YMMV. I may or may not have the palate of a mountain goat.
  6. JLP Cazadores from early '12. Not much to say here, some rich Cuban flavor in a budget friendly yet still decent cigar. No regrets in buying these at all.
  7. You guys could do a Google+ hangout and have it stream live on YouTube for all to tune in. Might be difficult to review a particular box code, but an international herf would be kinda cool.
  8. That sounds really good. I will have to try that out one of these days.
  9. Thanks. I make a pretty decent sauce, if I do say so myself. I just got some Italian San Marzano tomatoes in today, so there will be more pics to come in part deux. Stay tuned.
  10. I've recently gotten into making my own pizza from scratch. Decided to try cooking on the grill and it came out great. Will absolutely do this again. No sauce on this one, just diced Roma tomatoes, chopped garlic, a healthy drizzle of evoo, salt, pepper, moderate sprinkling of mozzarella, a little crumbled feta. Finished with some fresh basil and another drizzle. The crust was super crispy and the toppings made it light and fresh. Very nice for a late lunch.
  11. I haven't had any recent Unicos. Based on what I've had recently, my vote goes to PSP2.
  12. Not even watching the results...I did my part and voted. Smoking a brilliant Partagas Short. Just got a cab in the mail today from our host here dated Jul 12...these will not see their first birthday.
  13. BRC from May '12. A bit rough around the edges, but I'm really liking them.
  14. I tried an EL SD5 last week. I don't know if that cigar is representative of all EL SD5, but it was garbage. Received a box of the regular production SD5 this week, and the one I sampled was much better. I can potentially see Rob's argument for lacking character, but I'll let them rest up a bit before making any judgement.
  15. Do you mean that Prez and the boys aren't just winging it? Huh...learn something new everyday. Joe
