  1. Sorry to hear about this terrible experience, but your matter-of-fact style of narration and creative use of local flora had me cracking up big time. We've all been there (well, maybe not exactly there)...way to have fun with it! [emoji38] Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  2. I have the Monte 3 version. Really a beautiful jar, but the cigars have left a lot to be desired. Glad I picked it up way back when these things were 'cheap' [emoji857] Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  3. Nice to see you posting Z! In the exact same boat with you here, but at least for me I find I am getting better and better at just not caring. One thing I enjoy is giving out valuable cigars to some of my buddies who are blissfully unaware of the current price tag, and listening to their unaffected reviews. Especially when they trash some completely overvalued wad of old tobacco! Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  4. Order placed and very much looking forward to these. Congrats Rob, Hamlet and the whole team on the launch! Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  5. Thursday night panetela. Precious few of these left. Whoever rolled this one was in the zone that day, impeccable draw and combustion. Partagas factory '07. Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  6. Outstanding photos. Congrats to the whole team, looking forward to smoking these! Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  7. Bought a box of the original release 2010 Behike 52 at $58 per cigar. Each one has been exceptional, 94+. Worth it to me and glad to have a couple left. Aging nicely. Also the Cohiba 1966 at $65 per cigar was worth it imo, but not as consistent as the BHK 52 for me. Have had a handful of others over the years that were over that $50/stick cost, but not worth it. 8. SdC #1...precious few of these left. Perfect construction and a delicious cigar to wrap up the weekend. Sent from my SM-G981V using Tapatalk
  9. I'm obsessed with mushrooms and foraging season is in full swing here. Nice clean porcini in a soy butter glaze with scallions and a bit of sushi rice. I love meat, but some fungi can really deliver! Sent from my SM-G981V using Tapatalk
  10. Been running over 15 years and have tried just about everything. Fit is paramount of course so you really have to try them for yourself. I've generally been happiest in Mizuno/Asics/Saucony/Brooks. My local shop sells a lot of Brooks and for a general cushion shoe, the above-mentioned Ghost is a really popular and well loved model. For walking and gym, you could probably spend less on a more basic shoe like the Asics GT-1000. However, you might also consider replacing your shoes on a more frequent basis. These shoes all lose a great deal of cushion after the first 500 mi/800km. They also lose cushion with time so even lightly used shoes should get replaced with age. 14. It's been a good long while since I've put a cigar review up on the 'net. Frankly, the notion of a free bundle of MOFOHs was just too enticing of a bait to resist. Beautiful appearance, love the wrapper shade. This one weighed in at 17.6 grams, it feels light in the hand but firm to the touch. This is 82 days down for my bundle. I impatiently smoked the first one about 20 days after delivery, rather late at night after perhaps a few too many drinks...and the details are hazy. I do recall that it opened with some harsh edges but smoothed out over the course of the cigar. I enjoyed the experience but didn't recall too many specifics the next day...but today, I am bright eyed and laser focused. After a guillotine cut I find the draw just on the open side of my preference. Probably should have started with a punch cut...note to self for next time. Cold draw gives me clean tobacco and a hint of doughy, raisiny sweetness. I have paired this Canonazo with a Cuba Libre, my cigar pairing of choice most of the time. The opening had just a hint of strength, what felt like a gentle kiss of ligero with a bit of bite. It was gone in an instant though. Smoking through the first third, the cigar settled into a perfectly medium bodied, decadently smooth, nutty and bready expression of quality tobacco. I am enjoying this! Through the second third, I jot down the core flavor notes I'm getting - fresh baked bread, roasted nuts, a bit of cedar, light coffee and cream. A hint of marzipan here and there. Satisfying and rich with a palate coating finish. It has been said in many of the reviews, but you have to tip your cap to the whole production team here. These are beautifully constructed cigars. A couple minor touch ups were made but this cigar was simply a joy to smoke. Voluminous smoke production. The dedication to a quality product here is obvious. The final third adds a bit bolder coffee notes to the mix, more pronounced cedar, and an earthier finish. I can sense a bit of nicotine buzz but nothing excessive or out of balance. Just under 2 hours before putting it down. Honestly, a total delight. I have been pretty much 100% Cubans for well over a decade now. I know there are great NCs out there but this cigar was really a revelation for me. I'd go 93 points on this Canonazo without hesitation. Bravo!

  18. Agreed, reasonable price all things considered. I have a handful of jars and this one is my favorite. It's very sexy in person and a well-made and functional piece of memorabilia. Sent from my SM-G981V using Tapatalk
  19. From the last run of du Gourmet, 2013. One of the most consistent habanos for me, and always brilliant. Woody notes galore with tea, clove, baking spices. Sent from my SM-G981V using Tapatalk
