Perlas

Perlas (1/5)

  1. Madrid is a beautiful city and absolutely massive. I was the designated minivan driver a few years ago on a family vacation through Northern Spain (Basque country) and still suffer PTSD from it.
  2. H.Upmann Sir Winston LGC Turquinos Montecristo #3 Of course, this list could completely change tomorrow…
  3. Tough crowd with RASS not making the list. It is almost a who’s who list of cigars.
  4. I was gifted a 4-pack of these for Christmas and decided to try one this weekend. This is a 54 x 5.5 in cigar so quite hefty. The wrapper was about a Colorado rosado and appearance was perfection. I was driving down the interstate so not much to say about smell or cold draw. I can say that the construction, burn, aroma, draw and smoke output were all on point. I did not get a lot of tongue-coating pepper with this cigar like many NW cigars and that was refreshing. It started out on the mild side and certainly evolved throughout…probably finished a little over medium. I picked up on cedar and berry flavors, but being in the car with the window cracked limited my ability to pick up on subtle flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar. The next will be from the back deck so I can give it more attention and I am looking forward to it. In my area B&M, these are on the pricy side ($40/stick).
  5. After reading a review of this line by @TacoSauce, I picked up a sampler of lonsdales recently and just finished smoking the first of it. Apart from a few burn issues, I enjoyed this as much as any non-Cuban I’ve smoked. Cedar, cream, vanilla…all bundled in a very approachable medium-strength cigar. Disappointed to hear they are discontinuing the line. I should pick up a few boxes while they are still available. https://halfwheel.com/warped-discontinues-futuro-maestro-del-tiempo/445990/
  6. Man…There’s no coming back from 60. Did you get a walker yet?
  7. I smoked my first one of these today…Box code of SER May24 so just 8 months old. Started out quite mild and evolved into a medium-full in strength. Plenty of honey and brioche as others have mentioned. Fantastic cigar! I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.
  8. I was looking at the Grand Robusto at my local B&M the other day. I’m sorry but that thing is huge! I ended up grabbing a corona gorda instead. Nice looking cigar. Feels and looks well constructed. Just need some warmer weather.
  9. Minter might be a good pickup for the Mets or he might not. He goes through spurts where he looks great but then holy cow can he go through some ugly stretches. You can tell he wants it…I’m pulling for him. I worry about the status of our (Braves) pitching staff and the lack of off-season acquisitions. Anthopoulos usually finds a way to improve the team each year so not too worried yet. No real way to keep pace with the Dodgers…just gotta hope they don’t come into the playoffs hot.
  10. Wow...nice review of what sounds like a great cigar.
  11. Great review from my favorite reviewer! Monte #2 is not in my humidor but I believe I’ll remedy that soon.
  12. I would definitely vote for enhanced shipping options. I’m in a blocked state. One of the things I really enjoy about this site are the reviews so anything to encourage more would be welcomed. Thanks for actually looking for ways to improve.
  13. Just hearing his name or voice brings a smile to my face.
  14. Great article about his impact and life. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2025/01/16/bob-uecker-milwaukee-brewers-radio-voice-and-mr-baseball-has-died-at-age-90/75592190007/
