    Dictionary.com apparently selected 'demure' as their word of the year. That selection really pales in comparison to 'enshittification.' The problem, of course, is now I need to make sure that I am not using enshittification during my next faculty meeting. So, instead of learning something new today, I need to unlearn something new today. Thanks, El Pres!

    Had a fabulous holiday with extended family in from the D.C area. Lots of football, food and fun. This turkey never stood a chance at leftovers! But too cold for any cigars on Thursday. Will have to make up for that missed smoke while tailgating on Sunday. I am very happy to see so many other happy family celebrations here as well.

    Beef brisket. A little bit of seasonings, on the smoker, for about 12 hours. Start it on the smoker in the morning, maybe play some golf, smoke a cigar, have a nice bourbon, and it's ready for dinner.

    Nope. If it's good, I will finish the smoke, no matter the time. Who needs sleep, anyway? If there is a big chunk of the cigar left, it's probably cause it wasn't that good. And if leaving it out overnight improves the taste, we got serious issues here.

    I have really enjoyed the Nudies releases, but have always wanted a larger format version. I am very excited to see this released. I have absolutely no qualifications to serve on the panel, but am well qualified to enjoy the finished product of everyone else's hard work.

    I really think that I spend more time trying to decid what cigars and beverages I am taking to tailgate then I do on what the weather will be and how many layers I need to wear for Eagles games.

    "We are on a mission from God." Such a great movie. The music alone makes the movie for me. Add in some comedy and campy action sequences, and you have one guilty pleasure movie. 10/10 for fun

    Yeah! The second movie that I have actually watched in this series- a solid 10% should be applauded, right? This is a "guilty pleasure" movie. It was great the first time that I watched it, as a kid. It appealed to all of my interested as a kid- history, adventure, the supernatural. Watching it as a adult, though, and it really does not hold up well. But do I watch it if I happen to stumble upon it on TV? Absolutely. Provided no other adults are in the area to heckle me about watching me.

    Finally, a movie that I have actually seen and can comment on; that makes me 1 for 18! Read a lot of the early King books when I was younger and always thought this was a good story. But very different from what King normally wrote, so didn't really go back to it to reread. Watched the movie and realized it was a great story. I don't normally seek out movies, but if I stumble upon this, I will always stop and watch it from wherever it's at. 10 out of 10 for me.
