Man I have a doozy
Back in 2008, it was the night before Mothers' Day. I had worked a 12 hour shift and was looking forward to spending the next day with my wife and 4 year old daughter. I stopped by the store on the way home and bought my wife a dozen roses and two cards. I was happy. I got home, we had recently bought a beautiful house with a Japanese Garden and Koi pond in the backyard, nobody was there. I wrote my wife a sweet message in each of the cards. The phone rang, it was my wife she said "I can't do this anymore," I said "what are you talking about," she said "US, I want a divorce." She had left and gone to her mother's with our daughter. My whole world fell apart in that moment. I cried until my tears dried up. I was 2 hours from a dear friend, I called him, drove to his house and he drove me another two hours to my Mother's house. I didn't sleep and only cried for three days.
On a happy note, we both remarried great people a couple of years later and co-parent our daughter who is growing up to be an amazing person!
