  1. Umami? I thought Umami was more of a general description of flavors and mouthfeel than a direct flavor? I don't think I've ever seen that in a cigar review, but to be honest, I dont read many reviews.
  2. Lanceros. One of my favorites and I only see them when Im late to the party
  3. Well. I just scored some on the 24:24
  4. One of the best smokes I have ever had. I have a jar from 2015 with 6 or 8 left
  5. I've never had either and I am a lancero fan and a Monte fan. I guess I'm a bad fan. . ?
  6. Loved- perfecdraw. Saved me a few vintage Lanceros. Abhorred- missing Lanceros in the 24:24 every single time they were posted. My best stick - An H Uppman magnum 50 two or three years old. Bought ten. Which I bought 100. Worst stick- an acid my boss made me smoke on the golf course when I had a few 2004 Monte No.2 in my bag. Best freshie- had to be a Monte no.4. Smoked one after owning it for a week. That whole week they were accidentally dry boxing.
  7. I was in a casino last night and really only looking forward to the stick I brought with me, a 2016 PSP PSD4. This thing would not burn at all and it was dry boxed for 2 days (by accident, but still). This was the worst burning cigar I've ever seen. Huge canoes, wouldnt stay lit etc etc. I left it in the ashtray and walked out pissed off. And I was up. Does anyone think it could be the casino that caused this cigar to behave so poorly? Air quality, fans etc. . . I've had one or two out of this box and they've been ok. Probably just a bad stick but it was that bad.
  8. I prefer a lightly larger ring gauge and with two kids under 4 years old 10 minutes is a lot of time for me. I've been smoking much shorter cigars lately.
  9. I'm not sure either. I'm going to be on the island a lot next week otherwise I'd definitely be in.
  10. A lancero was my first Cuban in 1997 and it still my favorite. Anyone wanna split a box when they come up? I ALWAYS miss the 24:24 with Lanceros
  11. In interested in a NYC Herf. Going to go vote now
  12. No kidding? Never heard or it.
  13. Monte No.2 if I can find them old enough or Lanceros. Or really whatever pops up on 24:24. I know I missed that night with the no.2 and Lanceros. Im Kicking myself. I was a few minutes late
  14. I'm in as a newbie if there is still room.
  15. I uswd to modify and race Datsun 240z's. Now I make babies. Lol
  16. I haven't smoked a Hawaiian cigar but I can speak to the coffee. I am a home roaster, and somewhat of an affocianado. A friend of mine grows coffee in Kona and I lived in Honolulu for 8 years. The best of Kona coffee is good, but there are much better varieties available from other countries. Ethiopia, Columbia etc.. The reason kona coffee is so expensive is because Americans pick it, or presumably people to whom a much higher wage is paid then the pickers in Ethiopia. That ridiculous price ia not indicitive of quality. As I said my friend grew kona coffee and I had access to the best of the best for reduced prices and I used to order coffee from other countries. Maybe I'll have a friend there send me some sticks. I wouldn't mind trading some expertly roasted coffee for some Cubans
