Alex Trelles passed away on August 19. Got a message from his Daughter Gilian on the Telegram app but just saw it. A true gentleman and heaven is lucky to have him.

Alex asked Leo to pull me out a bundle of Monsdales in Mid June, dont know if there are any more.

Came back thru Jose Marti on June 16. Had Facturas for all boxes but one half smoked box of Trinidads from Melia Cohiba where they refused to write me out a Factura. Was sent off to a side room on the left side of the terminal between two gift shops. Room was staffed by 5 twenty something Aduanas. They checked all facturas with a small black fresnel lens that they held over the shaded parts of the factura looking for a watermark. A few minutes later I was on my way home with all of my cigars. Had 50 custom rolls in carry on and they didnt say a word.

The shop in the Habana Libre would not give me a factura period. They gave me the reciept from the register ansd said it was "official" what BS ,just ended up smoking everything I bought there during the trip. So sad about Yolandas churchhills , put my custom rolls 75 in my checked baggage no issues. Agent checked facturas on every box in my carry on and matched the type and datecodes.

As cheap as they are, I just throw a couple in my checked luggage. If they get nicked, no big loss.

Anyone can walk into the store and buy them. I always pick up a couple of bundles to take home. Suprisingly great smokes. Prefer the El Credito but they only had these Colosso. The glue on the bands made these stick together where the bands meet and you have to pull them apart.
