  1. A dinner that includes the Laphroaig 25 cask strength and a take home bottle of Laphroaig Select hosted by the Brand Ambassador of Australia. Wish I was there
  2. I find it interesting that Habanos recycled MEL. MEL was back in circulation from 2015-17.
  3. You will rember that cigar and that morning moment for life, brother! And at some point, you will get yourself a cab of 25 for a special day to smoke on your anniversary. Congratulations on your wedding!
  4. Some people meditate; I smoke cigars. Ron Perlman A good cigar is as great a comfort to a man as a good cry is to a woman. Edward Bulwer-Lytton Love: it is like a cigar; if it goes out, you can light it again but it never tastes quite the same. Archibald Wavell
  5. I haven't been to the Partagas Festival before, nor Cuba, for that matter. Can a fellow FoH member enlighten me on how to get tickets for the events? Do you have to call the LCDH Partgas store and reserve your tickets and pay in CUC when you pick them up on Monday, November 13th? Thanks!
  6. My favorite cigar shop in the Windy City. It's always homier than other fine establishments in Chicago.
  7. I agree that it's a very good cigar. I've gotten them in Spain for €7 a stick which isn't bad, but pricing is certainly not it's strong suit.
  8. Congratulations to those who got this!! This was certainly one of the most disappointing Siglo IV I've smoked and I wish I could chalk my example to just youth. Oddly enough, my example was distinctly box pressed.
  9. I really like the way an Omas fountain pen writes
  10. Afternoon reading with an HdM Epicure de Luxe
  11. Is the box code OMR JUN 15 by any chance? I have that but haven't tried any yet
  12. I'm not a regional chaser either, but I've been trying to get my hands on one to try. I've heard nothing but good things about the Libanos. I've always wanted to visit Beirut, partly because of cigars.
  13. I was there in November and it's pretty tapped out. The only find I had was the last box of SLR Londsdales for €135, if memory serves me correctly. It's worth a trip if you're chasing regionals, which wasn't the purpose of my trip. The Cohiba boxes were 16 box codes. To make matters worse, you can only legally bring back 3 boxes into Spain/France per person.
  14. Congrats on the find! Hopefully they smoke much better considering the different wrapper leaf varietal that was in use then.
  15. If the top code looks like HM, then it's Heroes de Moncada (Jose Piedra) factory.
  16. If it's BM, then yes it's the the RyJ factory, indeed. Is the factory code on the top one MM?
  17. I believe the top one is 11/97 and the bottom one is 06/97. I can't make it the first two letters for the factory codes in either picture. This is based on the "N I V E L A C U S O" date code that ran from 1985 - 1998.
  18. Plenty of Masons in Cuba. Ask your local Grand Lodge and they might even put you in touch with some.
  19. Given that the box code was MEG (H Upmann factory), these cigars were rolled at the mother factory and yet the core DNA of an H Upmann was lacking. I'd say that the problem of bands being slapped on to cigars is more pernicious than what one may give Tabacuba the benefit of the doubt for.
  20. Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice. I'll see towards BCJ and Partagas Shorts. Time to smoke up some of the Opus Xs to get through some of them.
  21. I'm traveling to Scotland for Feis Ile on Islay. I'll be traveling with ~40 cigars. Checking the weather, it's 50-65 with humidity at 80+%. What would you advise to keep the cigars at 60-62 RH? After more than a few tipples, the last thing I want to do is puff on acrid, plugged, over-humidified cigars. Any tips appreciated.
  22. My 07 cab is smoking wonderfully right now. I feel it takes 5 years to start hitting your caramel notes.
