Famosos is one of the greatest cigars in my opinion.
Very complexed flavors of dark chocoate, leather, earth and honey, especially when Famosos is well aged, say at least three years.
Famosos is similar to no other cigar. Very unique, I feel.
Thank you for your nice review. Partagas Churchill, great and I feel nostalgic indeed. The ashtray seems to me very beautiful and a cool design...fabulous.
I do not recommend to storing cigars at temparatures above 20 degrees Celsius. I had very hard experience in the past when I worked in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The temparature in my apartment was around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. I stored my cigars (5-6 boxes) I brought from Japan in the room. After 2 weeks, I found that mold was growing on the surface of all my cigars.
Now I live in Tokyo Japan where it is very humid and hot in summer therefore I store my cigars (about 30 boxes) in my wine cellar at the controlled temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. And I put all my cigars into Ziploc style bags (I use double bags) with a 69% Boveda pack.
(1) This is absolutely crazy decision. No liberty, no rights, no love for cigars.
(2) I am afraid that making fakes becomes very easy.
(3) Anyway, plain packaging is ugly. I need beauty because I am not a robot.
Everytime when I smoke a cigar after dinner, I have many kinds of nightmares. Without a cigar before sleep, I never have a bad dream. Therefore this phenomena must be caused by nicotine, I think. But I do not care about it at all. I enjoy a nightmare after a cigar. ^o^
(1) I am not so confident the price is still reasonable, but I recommend as follows.
Partagas Aristocrats
Partagas Serie P2 (10's)
Hoyo de Monterrey Palmas Extra
Por Larranaga Petit Coronas (sorry, this is 50's)
Punch Short de Punch
H.Upmann Half Coronas
Ramon Alloness Specially Selected
Vegas Robaina Famosos
(2) Compaired to 1990-2000 era, better point is that the quality of almost akll the Cuban cigars is greatly improved according to my personal experience.
(3) For example, my Romeo y Julietta Churchill in 2020 is unbelievably better than the ones in 1990's I smoked.
Cigars in ziplock style bag with BOVEDA 69%, again in ziplock style bag in order to avoid drying out. That's enough for me. In my house, I use the same style when I stock cigars in my wine cellar.
Considering the current variety and quality, I would like to say Bolivar and Ramon Allones.
Punch used to be great however now lack of variety, especially because Churchill and Petit Punch were discontinued.
I have smoked the following Nudies 2023 (&2024).
N1 Lancero
N4 Petit Coronas
N6 Canonazo Amante
N8 Churchill
Robusto Trinity
Among these, I love N6 Amante most and this is the most complex and flavorful (many layers of sweetness) in my opinion.
However, the others are also very good cigars to enjoy daily.
I like Partagas brand among all the cuban cigar brands. So, of course I am interested in the PARTAGÁS LÍNEA MAESTRA and I may try at least single cigar.
However, I would like to say very loudly to Cuban government and Habanos S.A. to please re-produce Partagas Lonsdales and/or Coronas if you have time to produce such luxury cigars with extremely expensive pricing as MAESTRA.
I am a Japanese living in Tokyo for more than 30 years but have not yet visited this museum.
However, it is my pleasure and honor that this museum in Tokyo became a Topic on FOH.
