  1. I agree with Jah about the corncob. They're cheap, they're light weight, they smoke dry (no slurp), and if you only have one, they don't need to "rest" to dry out between smokes. Taken care of, they last a long time. I have one I've been using for two years, and I've heard of guys using them for way longer. I would say only buy Missouri Meeschaum. They have it down to a science. And if you find you like them, you can buy a quality stem for them. Google Forever Stem. I would disagree about aromatic tobaccos to start. If you get them a little hot, as you probably will, they can get "slurpy", which is nasty, and will cause tongue bite.
  2. I already can smoke as much as I want, since I drive a truck for a living. I found out last summer when I was smoking 2-3 day that cutting back to a couple a week really made me appreciate it more. That said, I'd be a lot more choosy in what I smoked. Probably all CCs except for Padron Anniversaries and Ashton VSGs. Couldn't do without those.
  3. You mention a destructive test by cutting off a couple of centimeters of the foot to check for short filler. I'm a rookie's rookie. Will the short filler be that obvious to me on such a short piece? Great info, Matt
  4. Hey, SurpriseMVP, I'm South of Worth a little. I have friends in AZ in Surprise. I don't get out there too often, but maybe we'll have to meet up out your way someday.
  5. Hello to all, I'm a relative newcomer to cigar smoking. Looking forward to learning all I can. Thanks for having me, Matt
