Van55 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have often seen the term "master case" used to describe the quantity of cigars shipped from Cuba to the regional LCDH distributor. I've just assumed that that was some unknown number of boxes of cigars bundled and palletized for shipment. Question: How many boxes are in a master case? Does the number vary depending on the kind of box (e.g. cabinet of 50 vs. box of 25 or 24)? Assuming the master cases consists of boxes of 25 cigars, would the number of boxes in a master case depend on the size of the vitola or the type of box (e.g. semi-plain box vs. 8-9-8 unvarnsished vs. Sir Winston varnished box)? Thanks.

jaylax5 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 From what I have read...25-30 boxes per master case, depending on style/type of cigar/box. So, Van, what cigar are we getting? ;-) :-D :-P

SCgarman Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 So would a master case of petit coronas consist of around 40 boxes, or more?
jdo2110 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Well, possibly. Dimensions of the boxes are taken Into consideration in order for the packaging to be situated on a pallet in square shape. This allows for..... Wait.... I LITERALLY know nothing about this! ; ) Just having fun, guys, please continue...
oliverdst Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I guess this has to do with logistics so maybe it doesn't matter the size itself but which cigar is being shipped. Just a guess.
Smallclub Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 So would a master case of petit coronas consist of around 40 boxes, or more? A little less, I think. I believe there are 42 boxes of minutos in a master case; a friend of mine bought a case of RASCC, and 42 is the figure I remember. I could be wrong but not by much…

SCgarman Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I would like to see El Pres take some pics of himself going through the steps of unboxing a mastercase of Habanos. I think most have not seen things of the sort at the PCC warehouse.
