MC4 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 These two bands come from two different boxes of Imperiales bought from two different sources. The boxes and the imprints on the boxes and the cedar sheets look identical. Cigars from both boxes taste great, however, there is a slight difference between the two bands. One box is ULA Mar 14 and another is ULA Nov 14. Anyone else had the same experience? Opinions? thanks 1
Fuzz Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Unless they have changed the band, according to CCW, there is only one QdO band currently used.
Habana Mike Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 One's a pretty good replica of the other.Cuba being Cuba both are probably legit from two different printings but one never knows for sure in this world.....Just checked my box ULA ABR14Looks just like yours on the left. The other looks to be of higher print quality. Maybe the counterfeiters are starting to overachieve! 1
wolfain Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Hmmm.. Didn't they stop production on imperiales? Maybe you need a side by side smoke taste test... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wolfain Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I believe the Coronas Claro is discontinued. You got it the other way around.. Lol http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/Cuban-Quai-D-Orsay-Brand-Cut-Down-to-One-Size-17983 May 2014 was the last box production date for imperiales, coronas claro is the final standing size left in the brand. Hmmm, maybe not.. The CA article states that production halted in the 2nd half of 2014, it didn't specify when exactly, and at the time of the article (feb 2015), they author said they found boxes as late as may 2014. Should be ok I guess, once you smoke 'em, you'd know! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dangolf18 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I believe the older bands were made out of paper and the new ones have a plastic feel to them. My memory might be a bit hazy as I haven't smoked a QDO for over a year. Also I remember older bands being slightly lighter in color. However, that's really weird that the bands would be different on boxes from the same year. 1
MC4 Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 dangolf18, you are correct with the paper "material" and feel. One does (top one, Nov 14) feels and looks like paper however, it's the older (Mar 14) one which has (bottom or right one) plastic feel to it.
