cigarros Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 These cigars were purchased by our colleagues in LCdH in the Estonian capital Tallinn in July 2010. At the time of acquisition of these cigars in Estonia their appearance has been eagerly awaited in the countries of Western Europe and Southeast Asia. In Europe first they are appeared in Germany, Spain and odd in Estonia. In the Asia Pacific region they are still unavailable. In Russia they are also absent, but there is hope for their appearance this fall under the Habanos Day. We were lucky to try this new line of Cohiba brand in 2010 probably the first, except those who had to try these cigars in the past in the February 2010 Festival del Habano in Cuba where they were first presented for cigar public. A few words about this line - Behike (from Spanish - "Sorcerer"). For the first time these cigars were released in 2006 through a Commemorative Humidors series which were dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Cohiba brand. This release - 40 Aniversario Humidor was released in 40 special humidors of 100 cigars each one. The cost of each Humidor was about 10 000 USD. Torsedoras - Norma Fernandez, the oldest and most experienced torsedoras of El Laguito factorie . In 2009 appeared the first information from HSA about the release of these cigars in the ordinary line of the brand Cohiba, the fourth of the line in this brand. Wrapper color: colorado Texture of the wrapper: thin, smooth, shiny, oily Pre-light aroma: honeycomb, sweet pepper, ginger, fine russian leather, forest glade heated by the sun First third: Despite the impressive size the first puffs pleased beautiful optimal draw and «body». Complex aroma, distinguishable shades of Turkish coffee, spices, precious wood (sandalwood, rosewood), soft thin skin. Second third: Smoking is cool, the ash is kept steadily at around 3-4 cm, there is noticeable increase of strength with each subsequent puffs until the end of smoking. Complex aroma, integrated, balanced. Distinguishable tones of nut and fruit mixes, milk chocolate, musk, marinated mushrooms, thin skin. Last third: In the last third cigar takes all her strength and charisma - a noble, aristocratic aroma - leather interior of the new sun-warmed car, perfumed aromas of lavender and honeysuckle, aromas of confectionary and coffee-shop, wood chips, chocolate and spice. All intricately interwoven in a complex and tough design. General impressions: Aristocratic and noble cigar with rich character and dynamic development. It’s a cigar of medium strength closer to the firm. Definitely an evening cigar for special occasions. Perfect construction with optimum draw and smooth burning. Harmonic volumetric taste and rich constantly changing aromatic bouquet. The cigar for experienced afisionado.

Great review Dmitri and beautiful photos. I hope to one day visit Russia and share a smoke with you my friend. PSKOV looks really beautiful. BTW Dmitri, as for the Behikes rolled by Norma Fernandez for the ELIE BLEU Humidor, Fernandez rolled all 4.000 of the Behikes and the humidors contained 40 Behikes each for a total of 100 Elie bleu humidors. Each Humidor was at a selling price of 15.000 Euros Today at auction, they can go easily for 89.000 Euros. Anyone interested ?
bigfunkyg Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I have a box of these too but haven't taken the opportunity to smoke one yet. In waiting for the right occasion. The presentation on these is stunning. The box, labeling, and cloth wrapping is just something to behold.

michael69 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Great review! (still waiting for the promised one from the deck...) got a box of these ageing; should become truly amazing after a few years. I've had 2 or 3 singles, and already very good (best of the 3 sizes in my opinion). we'll see how they all turn out with ageing.

Bluesmokes52 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I couldn't agree more with the review and all the replies. I have some sitting and waiting myself for those "special" occasions. And I know what you are all thinking, they hygrometer is off by +2 degrees and +1% humidity. I have another hygrometer in the middle that is more accurate and since I know they have been calibrated properly I still use it...
Colt45 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 And I know what you are all thinking, they hygrometer is off by +2 degrees and +1% humidity. I think you'll find quite a few of us here maintain somewhat lower temps and humidities - personally I try to keep things around 63 - 65.
RetNYPDhom Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I think you'll find quite a few of us here maintain somewhat lower temps and humidities - personally I try to keep things around 63 - 65. Thanks for the tip. I been doing alot of research and since the winter WAS here the air is very dry from the forced air heater we use. They seem to be burning really well and I am sure the temp is going to drop a few degrees when the a/c starts to come on in a few weeks or so. I will also take your advice and drop the humidity to around 65. Thanks from the "Newbie"....
