strayvector Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 From another board...have any of you seen bands like the ones from below? Purportedly from a reliable vendor. Wondering if there was an unannounced band change from Cuba. Box code of LRE ABR09.
acidmase Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 New band I assume, I have a box from Aug 09 with the same band from a trusted source!
strayvector Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 New band I assume, I have a box from Aug 09 with the same band from a trusted source! Like the one on the left or right? Sorry I should have been more specific and mentioned that the one on the left is the one in question.
ColKurtz Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Just checked my box w/08 date code and they have the bands with the extra punctuation (right side in picture). Very reliable source. Edit to say: Guess that doesn't help a whole lot if this is indeed a new band.
reg Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 theres a thread a bit down that seems similar, might be helpful http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/inde...howtopic=100564
BigGuns Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I am not too certain about the legitimacy of the band on the left.
thechenman Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I am not too certain about the legitimacy of the band on the left. I agree...the color is a bit more off than usual and there is no period behind the "D". Never seen that before. No period behind the "S" in Partagas either...strange.
bob25 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 There was no change in the PSD4 band. The band is obviously a fake and I have hard time believing that the cigar is real while the band isn't... Get your money back if you can.
kafreeman Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Do the PSP2's have the punctuations marks as well?
Kangaroo495 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Do the PSP2's have the punctuations marks as well? I had one the other night, and I noticed that there was no dot after the P, only after the 2
kafreeman Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I had one the other night, and I noticed that there was no dot after the P, only after the 2 My bands read Serie P No. 2 Partagas-Habana They are a diff color than my PSD4's, more of an orange tint. They are kinda ugly too.

Last post is quite old and I don't know if it's still in question, but if it is, just check the link of my P4s pics from the Czar. http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/inde...howtopic=102926 Guess the bands must have changed after all or would you doubt a cigar coming from El Presidente?

Actually,I did some research on the subject and asked around in a couple of more forums and asked my at my local B&M and it turns out that only specifics boxes that came from a specific factory or area came with this new band.So I cant call it a band change because as I see it it was just a "bad printing" incident. AFAIK, there was no publication about a band change of the PSD4 line in general. It was my bad,I should have corrected myself.
