dageshi
Hello ladies and gents, I've just picked up a box of Upman no 2 from LUB JUL 14, I wonder if anyone can give me any opinions on when they think these cigars smoke their best age wise. I know this is all subjective, I'm just interested in peoples opinions. Thanks
ElPuro
I have a box from LUB MAY 14. Needs a year or two based on how it is smoking now.

garbandz
only you can tell. smoke one every 6 months until you think they are ready. every box is different, and your ageing methods are yours alone. You may find you prefer them young............... and you thought this stuff would be EASY.............

DoubleDD
I like Upmann 2 after 10 years. That's why I bought a bunch of aged to smoke now and several LUB 14 boxes for 2024. ?
NSXCIGAR
In my experience the longer an Upmann is aged the better, in general. I like a little mongrel in my Upmann so 3-5 years works for me but at 8-10 years they get rich and smooth and the flavors really begin to stand out nicely. I actually like to have Upmanns set aside for both 3+ year smoking and 8+ year smoking.
foursite12
there's a seam of elegance and style in these that lies just below the mongrel and is a nice counterpoint when young. If you like that contrast, which I do, nothing wrong with burning them now. Set some aside if you wish of course. Always fun to experiment. cpmurrin
I generally find them to be ok fresh, but great with a couple years on them. I found a box buried in the humidor from 2-3 years ago and they were excellant
El Presidente
They use to be a cigar that needed extensive aging. The 2014 batches (which were excellent in the main) certainly have a full rich flavour now. 3-5 years for my taste.
dageshi
Thank you very much to ElPuro, TheFullMontecristo, habanolover, DoubleDD, NSXCIGAR, foursite12, cpm89 and of course El Presidente for your opinions, I'm going to try keeping the majority of this box for the 3-5 year period but put some aside for around 10. Again thanks for your help, for someone who can't afford to buy boxes upon boxes this informed opinion is very much appreciated.
SCgarman
Have a LUB Aug14 box. Smoked the first one last weekend. Great, tastes like a petit corona, just a larger vitola. I see no need to lay down for years.
