Seeing that there is an interest in scotch and other fine spirits, I thought this would be a good thread to start up here. Allows people to ask questions and share their thoughts on what they are drinking.

Last night, Glenfiddich 'snow phoenix' LE 2010. Delicious

Laphroaig 18 year old single malt. Unbelieveably fantastic. Highly recommended.

Results: A good night sleep.:thumbsup:

I have four opened bottles on rotation right now: Johnnie Walker Double Black, Yamazaki 18 Year Old, Glenmorangie The Lasanta and Highland Park 1990 Travel Retail Exclusive (bottled in 2010, so that makes it a 20 Year Old). Waiting in the wings for their turn (snug in my cupboard) are Glenmorangie 18 Year Old, Talisker 10 Year Old and Karuizawa NOH 1994.

I like to start each session with a bit of decent blended scotch to 'get my bearings' before proceeding to my single malts, and Johnnie Walk Black and Double Black has been my affordable choice of late. Other singles malts that were in recent rotation included Laphroaig Quarter Cask, Singleton of Glen Ord, Caol Ila 12 Year Old, Aberlour A'bunadh, Highland Park 18 Year Old, Glenfarclas 17 Year Old, etc.

I love trying new whiskies and when I taste something I fancy at my regular whisky haunt, it goes on my purchase wish list. I tend to ignore whisky reviews (with the exception of ralfy) and make my purchase choice based on my preference for sherried and peated whiskies.

Your right edlye... Ralfy is the best. Like yourself I love to try different whiskies. Whether it is Scotch , Burborn , Irish or Canadian rye. I love to temp my taste buds. Right now enjoying a particular good Canadian whisky called Forty Creek Confederation Oak. Very good hioghly recommend it.

I had a couple cold-certified Coors Lights after hockey last night. Now a grande bold from buckers while catching up on last night's FOH action.

Buffalo Trace, which is a Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey. Very affordable and delicious.

Tonight I sampled two single malts

Dalmore 12yr - good scotch, sweet, not too much head, dont know if i'd buy a bottle however

Oban 14 yr - WOOW! complex, smooth, right amount of heat, definitly on the top of my list as of now.
