zeedubbya Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Open Master garners a 93 in CA. "Better suited to the veteran than someone who occasionally lights up on the golf course." I am sorry to poke this bear, but this was just too interesting not to share! I'm genuinely interested to hear the comments about the statement on this cigar. Never had one, and I'm not a veteran so I can't say..............
Popular Post Ken Gargett Posted April 24, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2016 do you mean a monte open? i had not heard CA was now scoring out of 1000. 8
zeedubbya Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 do you mean a monte open? i had not heard CA was now scoring out of 1000. Yes Ken it is a Monte Open Master. Prez I think I've found a buyer for your Open stock---Veterans. Fought for our freedom and have to smoke Monte Open Masters. What a shame.

TomF Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 It's always good to reminisce... http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97926 From Part 3 (Open Junior) - "This is the worst cigar in the history of mankind!...This is a disgrace to humanity, this is the end of civilization as we know it!" Bwaaaahhhhhh!! 1
el.barbudo Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Are the veterans they refer to deceased? In that case I can see the occasional smoker preferring them less... but that doesn't mean the veterans like them, they just aren't complaining!
Dozerhead Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Maybe the only instance where the DR version outperforms it's cuban counterpart.
Guest Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Just a thought, but maybe they liked it? They can't win can they.... Rate a CC low and they're laughed at. Rate one high and the laughter continues.

Rate one high and the laughter continues. It's more like rate a 2016 Shelby gt350r low and get laughed at, rate a 1985 yugo with a tree growing out of it high and get laughed at. CA has made some very realistic ratings, but my experience with the open is it's as good as the yugo, which only has value as a unique planter. 1
Rye Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 do you mean a monte open? i had not heard CA was now scoring out of 1000. HA! This nearly had me spit my scotch through my schnoz! I should know better then to start reading this forum whilst enjoying some of the good stuff 1
PigFish Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 ... Let me guess, HSA just proposed a 6 month advertising deal on the Monte Open!
CaptainQuintero Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I think they mean veteran, long time, cigar smokers not ex military. Still wrong

This is genuinely one of the most awesome Mustangs I've ever seen come through our doors. It's stunning.
